Doreen | All About...Designing is something I have always done. When I was eight, my mother allowed me to choose the new scheme for my bedroom. My inspiration grew from a floral bedspread that I chose and soon the entire scheme unfolded. That is often how a good design is born. This interest remained with me and years later led me to earn a certification in architectural drafting. AutoCAD training soon followed. I did architectural support and design for many firms including Little & Associates and Parsons, International. It was this experience that gave me exposure to Commercial Interior Design projects as I worked in a design support role and as a furniture space planner. I eventually earned a degree in Interior Design in order to be able to delve more deeply into the design process and to learn both residential and commercial knowledge. Unlike so many fields much of my foundational college coursework supports me and enables me to accomplish my job duties today, including Advanced Commercial and Residential Design, Furniture History and Furniture Making, Architectural Design, Codes and Standards and much more. Since graduating I have gone on to achieve years of solid work history using the natural talent I discovered so long ago. It also enables me to utilize my training and on the job training to design functional and beautiful spaces. Contact Me...
